Giertz Rib Shears

Giertz Rib Shears are designed for cutting ribs in Cardiothoracic surgery. The right-angled turn in the neck of this shear allows for increased maneuverability while maintaining the handle out of the surgical field. This unique design allows for the rib to be clipped while still leaving the surgical field open and accessible by taking the handle out of the plane of the ribs. The hook shaped blade permits the contour of the rib to sit in this groove and be cut cleanly.
