Standard shank spoon excavator has diameter of 1.2 mm  and a terminal shank length of 6 mm  at the angle of 50° to the center line of the handle. Excavators have unique, large diameter light weight handle for maximum comfort, reduced hand fatigue and increased control.
Excavators are used to remove of carious dentin. All excavators are made of high-carbon stainless steel, then hardened for the ultimate in sharp edge retention and durability.
